You shouldn't aim so high >: l. Yes ambition is good, trying to be better then the rest pushes you forward. But it almost sounds like your giving. Look around, take a look at your reviews. They are great right? :O That means something.

Always gotta push myself even if at times it bothers me. :P When I do make the leap I'm looking for I'll know it.

Firebolt's right - don't aim so high that you can't be satisfied with anything you make. I've lowered my own standards before so I could finish a few tracks that never would have been finished otherwise. ;D

What really helps in my opinion is not starting with a track you've always wanted to make, but a neat concept (melody, drum sound/loop, synth/instrument sound/loop) that intrigues you that you can center your track around.

You're great at Trance, tracks like Your Eyes are tracks that truly stand out from the rest. But if you want to go in another direction I'm sure you have the musical talent to get places that way, too. You've shown it before, and once you decide a few years of experience will take you quite a far way.

Just thought I'd leave my thoughts. :)

Thanks for the support, I'm actually happy with a few of my songs and going back to listen to them actually felt nice. I'll continue to set my standards high for myself but I know I've improved, just sometimes I see people who make pro stuff that have had no past experience in music and are just starting. Always gets me down when it seems like all the effort I put in someone did it in less.

Well of course. Unless you've reached the very top of the ladder there's always going to be someone making better music than you, faster than you are. Remember when I showed you Daniel Kandi's remix that he made in two nights? ;)

If you keep comparing yourself to others you'll never get anywhere, so compare yourself to none other than yourself - you even said it felt nice going back and listening to a few of your tracks. So worry about making something YOU can be proud of, not something someone else would be proud of. That will come with time. ;D
